So going along with my fabulous themed week that I love; pole dancing. I bet you guys are all thinking, “Omg, stripping is my new profession!” Just kidding. (; But atleast I bet you’re wondering where you can learn some sweet moves that will make your man (woman)’s jaw drop. Well that’s what today’s post is for! Today for Tantric Thursday I’m going to explain where you can get your very own pole to practice sexy moves in the comfort of your own home! Talk about a mutual sex toy, eh? (;
But before I go into that…where do you learn these pole moves from?! They are now opening thousands of new gyms in the United States-and across the world-that offer special classes involving exotic dancing! All you have to do is go on the internet and type in “where can I take pole dancing classes in____(whatever city you live in)” and check out the results! Find a location that works for you and find out what they have to offer. My studio personally offers Pole 1,2 &3, plus Strip Tease and Lap Dancing-so it really depends what you’re looking for. Now once you’ve enrolled in a class (or just checked a youtube or workout video!) you’ll need somewhere to practice those new moves, why not in the comfort of your own home (or bedroom!)?!
You can buy pole dancing poles that are easy to assemble, durable, and can easily be taken down and stored for use anywhere in your house or apartment or even dorm room! I’m going to give you some basic pointers on buying a pole if you’re going to use it for extrasexy activities. (;
Firstly, let’s start with the ones to avoid! Spencer’s Gifts is a big NO NO. Spencer’s Gifts (spencersonline.com) offers two different pole dancing kits; one that’s a ‘Hot Pink Pole Dance Kit’ and one that’s ‘Carmen Electra’s Professional Pole Dance Kit’. DON’T BE FOOLED! These are NOT the poles you want to be buying, regardless if they are cheap, which they are ($99 and $129 respectively). The ‘Hot Pink Pole Dance Kit’ extends up to 8’6”, so if your ceilings are taller than that, you’re out of luck. That’s one downfall. Also, it comes in 3 pieces that you just slot together; not very safe. And on top of that, here’s the biggest issue I have with it; you need to screw the pole into the ceiling if you’re over 220 lbs. and you can’t be over 265 lbs to use the pole. Pole dancing is an activity that all body types should be able to enjoy and feel sexy using, so a pole that can’t support the weight shouldn’t be used! Also, no one wants to screw their pole into the ceiling-you want one you can take down if company perhaps comes over! The ‘Carmen Electra Professional Pole Dance Kit’ is also not as durable as it makes it seem and just because it comes with Carmen’s approval does not mean it’s worth buying! Carmen apparently also thinks that professionals are 120 lbs. or less, because that’s all the pole will “safely” hold. Once again, I think pole dancing should be enjoyed by everyone, not just the supermodels! Plus, once you learn spinning tricks, the momentum created by your body will make you put more than 120 lbs of pressure on the pole even if that’s all you weigh. So in conclusion, steer clear of these knock-offs. You really need to just go big or go home!
Bringing me to the pole that everyone should own, the one the professionals ACTUALLY use; the X-Pole. There are three main kinds of sets of X-Poles you can get; I suggest the Xpert (XX) which is both a stationary and spinning pole. Because trust me when I say this, if you buy a stationary pole (a pole that doesn’t move), like the Xsport, you’re going to get bored with your same old routines and you can never change them up. You’re going to want to try all your new moves on a spinning pole eventually to get more momentum on your spins-well on the Xpert you can because you can lock it down when you want a stationary, and unlock it when you want it to spin! You get the best of both worlds. Also with the Xpole, there is no limit to ceiling heights! You can buy extender kits if you happen to have really tall ceilings. It’s also bottom loading, so super easy to adjust the height without a ladder! It also has the revolutionary X-joint for maximum support, so you can expand the pole and fully lock it into position without the pole ever leaving the ground! They are extremely secure and even the most advanced moves won’t knock it down. As far as weight limits go? Not to worry, the Xpole has had 2 dancers (250+ lbs each) on the pole at the same time and it was completely secure. You can get these poles in two dimensions width -wise (50mm and 45mm) but most beginners like the 45mm because it’s easier to grip with your hands, but the 50mm is easier to grip with your legs (if you’re going to do inverts). It also comes in either a chrome or titanium gold finish; the chrome is standard, but the gold comes with an electronic coating that has extra grip which is good for inverts as well. But really it’s all preference.
You can order the Xpert pole or the other two kinds of poles at xpoleus.com and find out more information and how to order! The Xpert pole is around $329 for the chrome and $359 for the titanium gold. It’s a lot of money yes, but the use and the appreciation you’re going to get from your significant other is priceless! Do not buy knockoffs, they’re not worth it, trust me.
Well there you have it; if you’re going to show off your new pole dancing skills, it’s always best to go big or go home baby! Have a very kinky Thursday and try your new skills out tonight! (;
